2) Benson Henderson
Benson Henderson spent 2012 logging 75 minutes of championship cage time. The first 25 earned him the belt in a memorable tangle with Frankie Edgar in Japan. The rematch wasn’t so peachy for Henderson, but he got the judges nod anyhow. He made the most of the final 25 minutes, thoroughly working over Nate Diaz headlining FOX. Henderson is one defense shy of tying the lightweight division record. Winning three title fights in one year is always the best year possible. Henderson did it.
