Purity Ring – Shrines

The chilling production of Corin Roddick and angelic vocals of Megan James delivered a unique listening experience as the duo released Shrines last year. Odd one word titles (“Crawlersout”) and abstract concepts were stirred in a cauldron of warped and haunting music. But there was something sweet about how James delivered her vocals as songs like “Odebear” and “Lofticries” came together like a beautiful disaster. Shrines may not be for everyone but it certainly is of a unique retro-future group of individuals. – Andreas Hale
