Robert Glasper Experiment – Black Radio

It takes skill to pull off covers of classic songs from Sade and Nirvana on the same album. Robert Glasper brings enlists Lalah Hathaway for “Cherish the Day” and closes out the album with “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and makes both tracks his own while respecting the originals. Throw in appearances from Erykah Badu, Yasiin Bey (the artist formerly known as Mos Def), Bilal and others and you’ve got a recipe for music for any occasion. We just wish actual black radio sounded as good as this album. – Anthony Springer Jr.
