[AUDIO] Kendrick Lamar Looking To Collaborate With DJ Quik

Kendrick Lamar has kept fans and critics in awe since his debut album, good kidd m.A.A.d. city, in October and has made a name so recognized in hip-hop that he has the potential to collaborate with some of the biggest names in the game. The album was filled with heavy hitters from Drake to 2 Chainz to producers Dr. Dre and Pharrell and that’s just a slice of what he’s done since being picked up on hip-hop’s radar.

While giving an interview to DJ Buck of Hot 97.3 Hartford, CT, he spoke out saying that he has always wanted to work with the legendary producer DJ Quik, who is also a Compton product.

“That’s all we was playing in the house when I was coming up,” he told DJ Buck. With the beat selection that we’ve seen from Kendrick so far it sounds like that would be a perfect fit. We saw them together in the 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards cypher last year representing the West coast and this logically sounds like the next step or at least something that is more than possible of happening. The partying of today has a totally different sound from what was going on in the early ‘90s and Kendrick has seemed to fit in there nicely while blending what is going on today. “I took it upon myself to reintroduce that feeling and vibe to the kids today,” he says and who else better to do it with then Quik.

Let’s all hope somebody is working on this as we speak so we don’t have to wait too long for this to happen.
