[The Tens] The 10 Best Video Games of 2012

Nintendo Land

While it’s not the ground breaking (and game changing) launch title that Wii Sports was for the original Wii, Nintendo Land is just as all-inclusive and addictive. Essentially a collection of 12 mini-games, but they are so fun while also providing a charming stroll down memory lane through some of Nintendo’s iconic environments. Zelda, Metroid, Pikmin, Luigi’s Mansion, and Yoshi get represented. ‘Mario Chaser’, what I’ve essentially dubbed Hide-N-Seek, is the game to play, especially if you can find four other friends. The solo game ‘Donkey Kong’s Crash Course’, is an iPad ported game wrapped in Donkey Kong Country, showcases the Wii U’s ability to play on the game pad itself without the need for a television. Hopefully, Nintendo realizes this is a game that screams for DLC content and we get more mini-games next year. — Anthony Kennedy
