ScHoolBoy Q – Habits & Contradictions
A lyrical miracle spiritual album it ain’t and the “life for me is just weed and brews” mentality may turn some off. Beneath the braggadocio rhymes that most mainstream rappers get soundly condemned for, Q weaves together the serious (“My Homie”) and the carefree (“Hands On The Wheel,” “There He Go”) seamlessly. Not always politically correct, but always authentic, Habits plays well from start to finish. File this under timeless music. – Anthony Springer Jr.
