Manny Pacquiao Speaks On Devastating Loss: "I Am Fine"
After Manny Pacquiao’s brutal knockout loss to Juan Manuel Marquez, concern swept over the boxing nation regarding the Filipino’s health. It was a stunning sight to see Pacquiao lay motionless on the canvas after being obliterated by a counter right hand that sent him face fist to the floor.
The bad news for Pacquiao fans is that their fighter has suffered the most devastating loss of his career. The good news is that Pacquiao has a message for his fans:
“I am fine.”
In a statement released by Top Rank early this morning, it appears that Pacquiao is in good spirits despite losing the fight. After making a visit to the University Medical Center and being released with negative CT scan results, Pacquiao went back to his penthouse suite in THEhotel and had dinner with his family and close friends. He even reportedly watched a replay of the fight and announced “Spoiler alert. I don’t think you are going to like how this ends!”
Yes, the Pac Man was in good spirits despite the loss and released a statement to his fans.
“First and foremost I would like to thank God for keeping Juan Manuel Márquez and me safe during our fight on Saturday night,” said Pacquiao. “I want to congratulate Juan Manuel. I have no excuses. It was a good fight and he deserved the victory. I think boxing fans who watched us were winners too.
“To all my fans, I would like to thank you for your prayers and assure you that I am fine. I am looking forward to a nice rest and then I will be back to fight.
“On behalf of Jinkee and our family we would like to wish everyone a joyous Christmas and a happy and healthy new year.”
