[Audio Dope] Reviewing This Week In Audio Leaks Ending August 31
Last week brought us a wide range of hip hop to filter through. An unreleased gem from Common hit the net, Big K.R.I.T. teamed up with Christian rapper Lecrae, and Mac Miller had guest spots on two highly blogged tracks. Follow along with me (DJ Hourglass) and Bridge as we recap and review ten of the most noteworthy audio leaks of the week ending August 31st.
Songs In Review:
- Common – “No Sell Out”
- Wiz Khalifa ft. Lil Wayne & Young Jeezy – “Work Hard, Play Hard (Remix)”
- Ludacris ft. Kelly Rowland – “Representing”
- Rapsody ft. Mac Miller & The Cool Kids – “Roundtable Discussion”
- Method Man ft. Freddie Gibbs & Streetlife – “Built For This”
- Pac Div ft. Mac Miller & Raven Sorvino – “Black Acura”
- Buddy – “Inspired”
- Lecrae ft. Big K.R.I.T. & Ashton Jones – “Mayday”
- Casey Veggies – “Summer, I Suppose”
- LoveRance ft. Tyga & Problem – “Akup”
Common – “No Sell Out”
Spontaneously uploaded by the track’s producer No I.D., this unreleased Common jewel finally surfaced.
DJ Hourglass: At this point in their careers Common and No I.D. can do practically anything they want. Common’s getting checks coaching botany boys in Disney movies and No ID’s flexing his executive muscle at Def Jam, but somehow they make time to provide the world with great music.

Bridge: Agreed. How do you go wrong with these two? They have over a 20 year chemistry and fusion and hearing this one from the beginning, got me excited. But honestly, I was a bit disappointed. Not by the production, or even the hook or feel. Common’s storytelling approach didn’t match the mood and it was waaaay too short of a song! If it’s going to be a No I.D. & Common production, you have to come harder than a bonafide mixtape joint.
