"The Mask of Kobe " Sells For $67,000
It’s amazing the things that people will buy for nostalgia.
The infamous mask worn by Kobe Bryant this season for 11 games was recently auctioned off for $67, 100 dollars. The money will go towards the Los Angeles Lakers star players Bryant Family Foundation Initiative to help eradicate homelessness.
Bryant scored his 29,000th point while wearing the mask. Bids for the item started off as $250 before they inflated to the final selling price. While someone will have a piece of history, this bit of memorabilia isn’t the most sanitary piece of hardware to own. According to Bryan the mask felt like a sauna on his face as it accumulated nothing but his sweat through out games.
Hopefully no one attempts to actually wear the mask themselves.
