Former Bad Boy Artist G. Dep Is Sentenced 15 Years For Murder
Earlier today former Bad Boy artist G. Dep, real name Trevell Coleman, was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for the 1993 murder of John Henkel, after turning himself into the Harlem precinct and confessing to the murder only two years ago.
Coleman was once a protege to then Sean “Puffy” Combs in the 90s and now takes full responsibility for his actions from so many years ago when he shot Henkel three times during a mugging, not knowing if he had lived or died.
According to the NY Post, prosecutor David Drucker was in favor of the minimum sentence Coleman received today. ”He should be convicted of the crime he committed, murder in the second degree,” Drucker said. Also noting that Coleman had lived a non-violent life prior to turning himself in and ultimately solving this case.
Coleman was led out of the courtroom in handcuffs, with no comments as of yet on his sentence.
