[The Tens] 10 Terrible Hip Hop Collaboration Projects

The collaborative album used to be exciting. Then we had a bunch of people who had no business making music together dropping these projects that really soured our taste and had us rethinking the whole idea of two solo artists making an album together. They almost never work. Even if they do, they never exceed the lofty expectations. But then there are these hair-brained ideas birthed that end up being craptastic editions to the annals of music history. With Gucci Mane and V-Nasty upping the ante on horrific tag teams in rap, we decided to run down our list of projects that should have been aborted.

    Ja Rule

    It’s MURDAAAA

But on some real shit, I don’t think Mac & Devin is that bad. Sure, some of it is garbage radio hip-hop, but there’s some dope weed music on there. And what’s so bad about post-Rolling Papers Wiz? I thought the album was trash, but he’s still been putting out some heatrocks (thinking of the tracks with Curren$y and Big Sean), and floats on just about every beat he’s on.

But even if you disagree with my views on Wiz, I think we can all agree that putting it on a list of the 10 worst rap collabos of all-time — considering it’s been out for negative one days (and only leaked like 3 days ago) — is simply a lame attempt at garnering attention and/or hits on your blog, and is both shortsighted and desperate. Additionally, putting an album that hasn’t even been fucking RECORDED yet on your list is stupid. You kind of deaded yourself by including that shit. Plus, you just put a list and no justification for why the albums were terrible. I mean, you kind of defended your position with Weezy & Timbo, but the rest are just you saying the albums are bad with no clarification or explaining.

All in all, good idea for an article, terrible execution.

    Grade: C -

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go clap somebody back

    MSW?

    This list is terrible.

Collision Course was DOPE, it worked brilliantly. The Wayne + Baby album wasn’t that bad at all, I could tolerate Weezy on that shit. The new Snoop + Wiz album is actually pretty good, def. some nice tracks on that. There’s a couple of others on this list that are aight too.

Whoever made that list is a dumbass.

      Big Mac

I’d say it’s much more likely that the “dumbass” is the guy defending Linkin Park and Rap/Rock, along with a Lil Wayne and Birdman.

      Wiz Khalifa? Ha. Ha. Ha…..dumbass.

Side note; how is M.O.P. and LFO not on this list? Was it because it was just a single?

    Gunthro

Some people will be tricked by this, but hell no, this list is lame as hell. Several projects on here definitely dont deserve the credit of “terrible collabs” and by the last ‘so-called collab’ whoever wrote this probably ran out of ideas. Hopefully no one gets paid for writing these p.o.s pieces. If you knew better, you’d do better, but from that list, you dont know shit
