J.Cole's Debut Hits #1 On The Billboard Charts

After a much anticipated and oft delayed debut finally hit stores last Tuesday, J. Cole gets his day in the sun by landing at #1 on the Billboard 200 with an impressive 217,000 first week debut. It’s been a long time coming for the initial Roc Nation signee. He signed with the Jigga run label in 2009, and after two full years of fairly impressive mixtapes, features and consistent touring got his shot. Well, he’s made good use of it. He also topped the Itunes album chart as well making his debut even sweeter. Hopefully he’ll be popping some bottles tonight in honor of his success. Especially because he’s responsible for another first, as the first Roc Nation (non Jay-Z) artist to hit #1 on the Billboard 200. Now if only Jay Elec-hanukkah will get his act together and drop something special our lives will be complete. Either way, congratulations to the North Carolina native. Perseverance pays off.
