Brooklyn Man Kills Girlfriend Over Weed Stash, Hints At It On Facebook

The New York Post reports this morning that Brooklyn’s 29-year old Woody Borgella shot his girlfriend at point blank range on Monday, but not before posting incriminating evidence on his Facebook page.

Just three days before the altercation Borgella updated his status with lyrics; albeit incorrect, from 50 Cent’s “Shot Down” which features Styles P and DMX.

“I smell murder when the wind blows,” Borgella wrote.

Although Borgella and 31-year old Lora Ann Evans shared their Midwood apartment they had only been dating for a few months. Perhaps that speaks to why the trouble started so soon. According to Borgella an argument over infidelity and marijuana sparked the incident.  She suspected he was cheating, and he wanted her out of his weed stash.

A deep gash on his left hand may support his written and videotaped testimony that Evans pulled a knife on him before he shot her in the chest. He also claims that the gun went off accidentally.

If it was indeed an accident, Borgella still had the presence of mind to hide the murder weapon, which was found behind a neighboring building. Security cameras caught him in the act, running from the side of his building to the back shortly after the time of the shooting.

Borgella has been charged with murder and weapons possession and is being held without bail.  He has five priors including drug possession, robbery, assault and theft, along with three closed domestic incidents not involving Evans.

His Facebook page has been removed.

We’re not sure what’s worse here…the involvement of rap music, social media’s intricate weave into the fabric of our being, or how our lives are becoming trivialities next to drug habits.
