[The Tens] 10 Failed Hip Hop Collaborations That Sounded Better On Paper

By now, everyone has heard the dud that was Jay-Z and Kanye West‘s highly anticipated single from their Watch The Throne album titled “H.A.M.” Unfortunately, the Lex Luger production ended up tasting more like “S.P.A.M.” and left much to be desired. But this isn’t the first time high profile names came together and chucked up a brick. TheWellVersed presents ten other collaborations that sounded better on paper than they did in real life.

    Brutally Honest

I agree with everyone except Onyx & Wu Tang!! First off it dropped in 98 not 04!! And that shit banged then and it still does now. The way Sticky and Meth go back n forth at the end, that shit is hot, kid. “Yo stop frontin’ and use ya head.”

Don’t wanna insult you but did you actually read the post? It said “This is the perfect example of a song that would have been incredible IF it was like 1994 rather than 1998.” I capitalized the key word to help

I’m pretty sure it did say ’04 yesterday. You don’t have to clown the guy, especially if you edited it afterward.

The Worst was the best. And The Firm was a pretty solid album.

i think you could take hit’em high and the firm album off this list they had some decent songs on there…you could replace them with some of the DJ Kahled tracks that are out there

Zoom was actually meant to be with Snoop Dogg. I have it and snoop fits in alot better than Cool J

Hit Em High is a nice song. Stan was dope. The Worst was dope. The Firm album was dope, just wasn’t the type of album people expected. Dre and Jay-Z have collaborated before. And the rest of your list didn’t sound good on paper to begin with (Beiber, really? You expected something cool out of that?) Why did you include We Are the World? I’m fairly sure no one rapped on there.

The idea of making this list sounded good on paper but failed miserably..
