Thor Movie, Idris Elba Under Fire By White Racists

Major motion pictures that began as critically acclaimed comic books typically have two fates: they crash and burn at the box office or become blockbuster hits.

While many fans choose to bicker over certain aspects of the adaptions, race typically isn’t a factor in the discussions.

Until now.

The Council of Conservative Citizens is encouraging everyone to boycott Marvel’s forthcoming adaption of “Thor” over the casting of Idris Elba as a Norse god. Elba will play Heimdall at that sits none to well with the CCC since Elba is black and Heimdall—we believe, since the character is fictional—is white.

“It seems that Marvel Studios believes that white people should have nothing that is unique to themselves,” a representative of the CCC wrote recently. “An upcoming movie, based on the comic book Thor, will give Norse mythology an insulting multi-cultural make-over. One of the Gods will be played by Hip Hop DJ Idris Elba.”

Neither Elba, the studio or anyone associated with the film has responded.

I wonder how many of those clowns were objecting when they had a black guy playing the Kingpin?

(Daredevil‘s villian, traditionally very much white.)

I don’t see how this has anything to do with “racism” or white supremacy.
Would it not be absurd to make a film about fictional African folklore, and have some of the characters in it be white or Asian? Of COURSE it would! Anyone with even a hint of reasoning power can see that having a black man, playing the part of a white folklore character is absurd, and even offensive in a sense. Again, thing of the opposite situation.
