What about Aloe Blacc? That man was sick on the mic as a rapper and his new album “Good Things” might just be one of the best soul albums in recent memory. Granted, he’s not mainstream for real, but he’s still pretty up there.

I so agree…Aloe Blacc IS THE TRUTH!!! Drake, Weazel, Kangaye and lame T-Pain should see no better no better than a C-Minus at best. They all rely on AutoTune and incredible sound engineers and not to mention they all sound the fucking same!

if you gave 3 Stacks & Phonte A’s, then you gotta give Weezy & Ye at least B’s? The 4 of them can’t really sing but they write dope melodies.

for example if you take Heartless or Love Lockdown and replace it with someone who can hold a note; you have a billboard smash on your hands.

i fux w/ 3 Stacks but him humming in the background on that deuces remix makes my ears bleed…

I think you are way off on Mos Def. He’s not trying to sound like a typical R&B singer, he’s more trying to be like Gil Scott Heron circa Angel Dust or His Winter In America albums. Though he falls short, and i haven’t seen him perform live, that’s something great to aim for….
